The story of poetry is as old as human civilization itself. Its reproduction has changed and mutated: from papyrus to the velocity of the digital screen. Its forms, too, have been manifold: the daylight of romanticism, the heresy of the Beats to the combustion of free verse. Even today, it reigns supreme as the consummate treatise of the human condition: encapsulating the pain, the beauty, the misery and the hope.
Monsoon letters: Bilingual Collection of Poems hopes to uphold and build upon this rich canon of verse.
Monsoon letters is a web platform which was floated to showcase simple seekers of creativity related to the language of expression. Since the internet happens to be the easiest and most feasible tool to get through to more people than we ever will in print, this is a private initiative to encourage creative writing in all forms: words, pictures, sketches, speech, video et al. Their contributors are all young, fresh voices who have the potential to make a stir in the literary scene of this age.
