Ramblings represents the images that are constantly forming in a very young mind as the mind is transforming on approaching youth. Our poet Seema is a Bengali girl who lives and studies abroad and responds to distant events as they touch her through the visual media. She pens down her feelings of fear and apprehension that surrounds the child in today's world-of starvation and squalor in Africa, the difficulties of putting together a nuclear tests ban treaty and of AIDS. Seema also paints pictures of hope, her dreams and fantasies. She prefers to call this Book of fifty-three poems a monument of resolve. We will hope that Seema continues to inspire us with her poems.
Seema Nusrat Amin
Seema Nusrat Amin graduated from Sarah Lawrence Collage in 2004, with a Bachelor's in Liberal arts and a concentration in Global Studies. She was in New York for three years during that period, and one year in Paris. Since then she has been traveling between Thailand, Montreal and Dhaka, sometimes working, sometimes writing and always with one half or the other of her family.
