Book Info
Bangladesh and its neighbouring countries of Southeast Asia constitute a region of rich plant resources. These innumerable plant species generally grow wild in the vast flood plains, homestead shrubberies, marshy lands, coastal strands, forests and hills. This book contains 210 interesting flora out of over 5000 species found in Bangladesh. Many of them also grow in Eastern India, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, and Indonesia. Each flora is superbly photographed in colour with a description of its botanical features, medicinal values and active chemical compounds—the result of years of painstaking research and photography. Most of these species are not yet well-establishes medicinal plants, but have great potentiality. The present volume is the first of its kind in Asia in terms of photography and information.
