Montu Khan

Montu Khan was a left-wing political activist. He had taken part in all the national mass movements during the political turmoil of the 50s and 60s. On the eve of the elections in the year 1954, he joined Moulana Bhasani and remained with his party since then. Due to his political inclination and activism, he had to spend long periods of his life hiding from the then contemporary administration and government. In 1971, when the war broke out between the then East Pakistan and West Pakistan, he was employed in Eastern Banking Corporation and had joined Pakistan-China Maitri Samiti (Pakistan-China Friendship Association). He was arrested by the Pakistan military in May, 1971, and had to endure inhumane torture and humiliation

Sagar Chaudhury

Sagar Chaudhury has been living and working in London for more than two decades. Following an initial stint as a Producer/Broadcaster with the Bengali section of BBC World Service, he worked for a local authority for several years before opting to become a freelance writer and translator. He has written columns for the Dhaka newspaper The Daily Star as well as features for the Bangla magazine Kali-o-Kolom.
