Book Info
Agriculture has always been a significant part of BRAC’s development approach and strategy. Agriculture is seen as a major conduit for poverty reduction, improved food security, and women’s empowerment. Taking advantage of the government’s liberal policies towards NGO involvement in development, BRAC initiated major interventions in different agriculture sub-sectors including crops, poultry, livestock, and fisheries, and scaled them to reach millions of rural households. This book documents selected innovations and how those were scaled through research, extension, and marketing.
