Book Info
Azizul Jalil's first book, Turbulence and Tranquillity published in 2006, was primarily autobiographical. However, the book also sketched an interesting picture of the major social, political and economic events of the nineteen forties through the seventies when he spent his time working and traveling. The book was received well by the readers and reviewers. In the present book, the author reflects on recent political and economic developments in Bangladesh. These are particularly relevant in the current context of political divisiveness and discords in the country. He then provides the readers with glimpses of the past, which he considers important for our appreciation of history. In the final part of the book, the author shares his travel experiences and impressions with the readers, hoping that these would encourage some to take to such worthwhile past times.
