Md. Khalequzzaman, Ph.D is a Professor of Geology at Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania since 2001 where he also served as chair of the Department of Geology & Physics from 2005 to 2008. His expertise and research include water resource management, coastal oceanography, water quality, and GIS. He has published widely on transboundary rivers and water resources management in South Asia, especially Bangladesh. Dr. Khalequzzaman has authored three books on water resources and the environment. He has also collaborated with scientists from India, Canada, and Bangladesh on research projects focused on equitable and reasonable sharing of transboundary river.
