Sabrina Islam is a Bangladeshi entrepreneur and photographer. She began her business career in the mid-70s at Karika, which pioneered the marketing of rural artisan arts and crafts, and she is currently the Managing Director of a garment factory. She is also the founder and CEO of Reflections, an architectural and decorative stained glass company. Her honours and awards include being named the Daily Star-DHL Outstanding Woman in Business (2008), Most Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur in Asia at the Businesswomen’s Forum in Islamic Countries (2008), and the FBCCI-SME Award for Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur (2006). She is keenly interested in women’s entrepreneurship and skills development, the eradication of poverty, gender disparity, and violence against women and sustainable economic development for women and children. She has LLB (Hons) and MBA degrees from the University of Dhaka and was awarded a Ford Foundation Scholarship to study Small Business Management at Mount Vernon College, Washington DC. She is an avid traveller, singer, book lover, and jewelry maker.
