Halim Sadeka

Sadeka Halim (PhD, McGill) is currently the Vice-Chancellor of Jagannath University, Dhaka. She is the former Chair of the Department of Sociology and former Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Dhaka. She also served as the first female Information Commissioner in Bangladesh. She has published nearly sixty papers at home and abroad. Her research focuses on gender equality, forestry, indigenous issues, human rights, and good governance.
