Faruq Aziz Khan

Faruq Aziz Khan was born in Pabna town in 1929. His father, late Maulvi Abdul Aziz Khan was a Public Prosecutor and Chairman, Pabna Municipality. Khan was educated in Pabna and Calcutta. Graduating in Physics from the Dhaka University, he went to Canada for higher studies on a Commonwealth Scholarship in 1955. He spent two years in USA working on his post-doctoral research in Nuclear Physics at the USAEC laboratories. Khan began his service career as a teacher of the Rangpur Carmichael College and after a long spell of public service, retired as Chairman of Bangladesh Space Research and Remote Sensing Organisation (SPARSO) in 1985.
