Grandmother and the Tiger is based on a fanciful story about why women embroider tigers on quilts. As with other stories by the author, there is a moral for those who wish to find it. But all children love to go to the zoo. They also like the thrill of danger. Grandmother and the Tiger provides both and, with its colourful illustrations by Liton Saha, is meant primarily to encourage children to read.
