Monirul Islam is an additional commissioner of Bangladesh Police and the current Chief of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC). He graduated in British Law from North UmbriaUniversity, UK, completed an MA in English, MSS in Criminology and Criminal Justice and PGD in Genocide Studies from Dhaka University.

Mr. Islam was awarded “Bangladesh Police Medal” and “President Police Medal” for five times in recognition of his distinguished service for detective Branch as well as for his tactful media management and the CTTCU. He has been teaching Criminology as a part time teacher (Adjunct Faculty) at the University of Dhaka for last three years.
